Glycol System
The brewery's two, 6-barrel tanks are cooled by a 2HP glycol chiller. 4 tanks are shown in the model because we designed the cooling system for expansion.
A mixture of Propylene Glycol (antifreeze) and water is cooled to 28 deg F in the chilling unit and pumped around a circuit on the wall. A separate temperature controller is attached to a cooling solenoid and temperature probe on each tank. The temperature controller automatically activates the solenoid valve on demand for cooling and the cold fluid enters the bottom of a jacket surrounding the tank and exits at the top to return back to the chilling unit.
